Your note has been created. HELP!! Create Project 2010 - Music Workshops

We are looking for under 25’s of Muslim descent who would like to attend 4 music development sessions and have the opportunity to perform live at Lovebox Festival (16th July), Paradise Gardens (19th June) and the Young Peoples Caribbean Carnival in Walthamstow (18th July) to name a few.

The project is called Young London into Music and is part of the Create Festival 2010. It incorporates all of the 5 Olympic Boroughs and the Festival achieves advertising all over the UK and on 250,000 pieces of publicity. It’s no small project and we are reaching out for young people from Waltham Forest to work with Mecca 2 Medina (www.mecca2medina.net) - these are two Muslim men who have become a sensational hit across the world. They take Nasheed’s and spiritual music’s and transform them into rap and hip hop, in doing so they have become an inspiration for thousands of young people.

This is a really great chance for Waltham Forest to them to learn from industry professionals in a series of 4 workshops. It’s all absolutely free and we need at least ten enthusiastic and talented youths to take part in the following workshops:
    1. Development / Concept / Conceptualisation workshop
    2. Lyrical workshop
    3. Song Formation workshop
    4. Recording workshop

As part of the festival, we intend to record some material to provide our local young people a with a demo which will help them gain work, radio play and of course live performances alongside established acts in this genre. There is also the possibility of producing a similar type of workshop for girls with Poetic Pilgrimage (http://www.muslimhiphop.com/index.php?p=Hip-Hop/Poetic_Pilgrimage) who also are the Number.1 Girl Islamic Hip Hop act in the world.

The project is due to happen between now and July. So please respond to (music@continentaldrifts.c

o.uk) to get involved and please feel free to forward this information to anyone you think would be interested.
